Dalla Valle Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
Winemaker Notes
This wine is a powerhouse. The low yields in the vineyard translated into great concentration, tannic structure, and fruit purity. From the glass rise aromas of black fruits, white chocolate, caramel, truffles, and roasted meat. On the palate, the wine is rock solid, packed with fruit and complexity. But, despite its mass, the wine has a narrow, laser-like focus, with ample acid and tannin, and as it unfolds in the glass, more layers emerge: wet slate, matchstick, gravel, and kirsch. It will surely broaden and be burnished with age. It is muscular but balanced and generous, attributes that bode well for its age ability.

RP96Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Inky purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate leaps from the glass with youthful, exuberant red and black currants notes over scents of garrigue, cedar, violets, rose hip, iron ore, dusty earth and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, finely constructed and with bags of finesse, it sports a solid line of very fine-grained tannins and impressive earth-inspired layers, finishing with great persistence. This was tasted as a barrel sample.

This is a layered and beautiful red with fantastic depth and richness. Full body, velvety tannins and a long and incredible finish. A wine that combines freshness and depth for the vintage. Fantastic. Drink or hold.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon includes slightly less Cabernet than normal and is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc. It has loads of cassis and black raspberry fruits as well as gorgeous incense, dried violets, vanilla, and flowery spice overtones. About as seamless as it gets, with full body and present yet sweet tannins, it’s a beautiful, elegant wine from this remarkable site sitting above Oakville.
WS93Wine Spectator
This is dark and structured in style, with a strong graphite spine and a robust loamy edge throughout, while steeped currant and blackberry paste flavors form the core. Lots of tobacco, grilled savory and roasted cedar notes flow throughout. This is youthfully backward, displaying heft for now, but with a well of fruit in reserve for the longer haul. Best from 2020 through 2034.
