Belle Glos 'Clark & Telephone' Vineyard Pinot Noir Santa Maria Valley, USA

Belle Glos is the Pinot portion of the Caymus Vineyards estates of Napa Valley. The Clark & Telephone vineyard--prosaically named for the corner of Clark Avenue and Telephone Road--is unusual in that it was planted on its own roots, in the early 1970s, to the old "Martini" clone. One of the first Pinot vineyards in this cool, windy coastal valley, it's something of a lost treasure. Lush with brambleberry fruit and redolent of brown baking spices, this wine has been described as "Christmas in your mouth"!
